Sindh continues to see over 1,000 Covid cases per day
13 more succumb to coronavirus

Over 1,000 more coronavirus cases were detected in Sindh on Saturday for the fifth consecutive day.
In a statement issued on the day, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said 1,178 fresh Covid-19 cases had been confirmed in the province, where 13 more had succumbed to the deadly virus.
This was the highest single-day tally reported in the province since January 29, 2021.
A sudden surge had been observed in Sindh's singleday tally around two weeks ago, when the number of cases being reported every day increased by hundreds, eventually surpassing the 1,000 mark on Tuesday.

According to the CM, after the reporting of new cases and deaths, Covid-19 tally in Sindh had risen to 282,737, and the pandemic death toll had climbed to 4,658.
Of the new cases, 419 were detected in Karachi, 2017 in Hyderabad, 85 in Hyderabad, 59 in Naushero Feroze, 46 in Sanghar, 42 in Shikarpur, 36 in Tando Allahyar, 34 in Shaheed Benazirabad, 32 in Mirpurkhas, 23 in Jamshoro, 18 in Tando Muhammad Khan, 13 in Badin and as many in Dadu, 12 in Larkana, 10 in Khairpur and seven each in Ghotki and Kashmore-Kandhkot.
He said meanwhile, 418 more Covid-19 patients had regained health in the province, lifting the total number of recoveries to 264,823.
As of Saturday, the CM said, 12,051 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in the province, with 15,247 in home isolation, seven in isolation centres and 620 in hospitals. Of them 44 were on ventilator.
