ISLAMABAD: The United States Embassy condemned an improvised explosive device (IED) blast and a separate suicide bomb attack in Peshawar on Thursday. “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the victims and their families. These targeted attacks on police forces are a reminder of the courageous risks the Pakistani police take to protect their communities,” said a US embassy statement. “Since the beginning of 2011, more than 500 people are reported to have died in Pakistan from IED attacks,” the statement said.
