LWMC to streamline waste management

Meeting reviews performance, 10 agendas

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Chairman Amjad Ali Awan has issued instructions to the management of the company that despite having limited resources the performance of the LWMC should not be unsatisfactory.

He underlined that all decisions have been made in the best interest of the public.

“To provide cleanliness facilities is our responsibility and topmost priority. He said the company is working day and night to maintain cleanliness in the city and citizens would not be disappointed at any cost but the mission clean Lahore cannot be accomplished without the cooperation of Lahorites, he added.

He was addressing at the 116th meeting of the LWMC Board of Directors held at the LWMC head office to review and approve certain agendas.

Sultan gave a brief about the progress of the previous BoD meeting, LWMC progress and presented more than 10 agendas for approval.

The agendas included approval of the hiring of contractors for secondary waste collection and transportation to the dump site (for one year, extendable to another two years), estimated cost and pre-qualification document along with terms of references (TORs) eligibility requirements and evaluation criteria for bulk procurement of tyres, tubes, flaps for LWMC fleet and approval of bidding document for the hiring of security guards services for LWMC.
