KARACHI:

Three persons, including two landlords from Mirpurkhas, were abducted near the Northern Bypass in Karachi in the wee hours of Saturday.

One of the kidnapped persons, Zohaib Marri, was later released, on whose complaint the police registered the case for the abduction of the other two persons. Zohaib, in his statement to the police, said he, along with his cousins, Zulfiqar Wassan and Mohsin Marri, both of whom were landlords, were travelling to Mirpurkhas when two persons on a motorcycle and others on foot accosted them. “They [the kidnappers], two of whom had Kalashnikovs, held us hostage and snatched cash and mobile phones from us,” he said, adding that he was then made to sit between two of the abductors on their motorcycle, while the rest of the kidnappers, along with his cousins, sat in the car he was travelling in and left. Zohaib said the kidnappers kept roaming the roads on the motorcycle for around an hour and later released him.

Later, the kidnapped landlords’ car was found parked near the Super Highway.
