Electricity supply of WASA disconnected

GAPCO has disconnected electricity supply to WASA due to non-payment of dues.

As a result, several areas of Gujranwala are without power and are facing a severe shortage of water.

Affected areas include Model Town, Janat Bibi Park, Chaman Shah, Peoples Colony, Sheranwala Bagh, Liaquat Bagh, PM Naushera Road, Mughalpura and Rajkot.

WASA owes GAPCO around Rs60 million rupees.

Speaking to Express News, MD WASA, Khalid Bashir Butt, said that payment worth Rs10 million will be made to GAPCO on Tuesday. He said the sewage system in the area will also stop working if power connection is not restored soon.
