LAHORE:

The O and A levels results are out. The candidates lined up at their schools on Thursday to receive their results. Many said the heavy internet traffic at the CIE site made it difficult to access their results online.

Neelam Raza, a Beaconhouse House School’s Defence Campus student, said that she had got 5 Bs in all her major subjects. Registering for the A level programme, she said she was happy with the result and hoped to become a doctor.

A Resource Academia student, Awais Khan, who got seven A*s said he loved science subjects and wanted to become an engineer.

The results became available on the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) website early morning on August 11.

There were also students who said they had expected better results than what they got. One such student, Sumbal Saeed, said she had got an A* and an A, and said she would try to get all As at A levels. She registered for physics, mathematics and chemistry in her A level. The worldwide Cambridge results from November, 2010, indicate that the highest number of A* grades were earned in human and social biology in O level, and in Spanish in A level. Most private schools will start their new session after Eid holidays. The Lahore Grammar School, however, would resume classes from August 26.
