PESHAWAR:

Despite the so called smart lockdown all the main trading centers inside the old walled city remained open on Saturday and these centers attracted thousands of buyers of all age groups.

Government has banned intra districts transportation on Saturday and Sunday but this provided a golden opportunity to the taxi drivers who used to occasion to mint coins.

Most shops in Saddar and University Road remained closed but inside the old walled city the situation was completely different where the calls for lockdown were completely ignored not only by the traders but also by general public especially people from the out districts poured into the city in large numbers using taxies.

“Their method is really simple. Keep the shutters down to give an impression that the shop is closed and keep your business open,” said a local resident.
