Minister condoles poetess’ death, seeks report

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has condoled the death of the poetess Kiran Waqar with her family on Sunday.

On the minister’s directions, Okara District Health Authority had shared the initial report of the death of the renowned poetess, 34, who breathed her last on Saturday at a private hospital in the provincial capital due to Covid-19.

Kiran Waqar, her brother and mother passed away due to Covid-19 recently.

As per the initial report received from the District Health Authority Okara, the poetess and her brother came to the emergency unit of DHQ Okara on March 31 and were immediately admitted to the coronavirus Isolation ward.

They were provided treatment at the DHQ facility including oxygen.
