Sindh Governor Imran Ismail directed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Saturday to expedite the payment of compensation to families affected a plane crash in Model Colony last year, on the eve of Eidul Fitr.
Chairing a meeting at the Governor House, Ismail asked the PIA chief executive officer to fulfill his legal responsibility and ensure the payment of compensation to the affected families without any delay.
Besides, affected families, who also attended the meeting, were informed that replies had been sought from relevant authorities on their reservations shared during the last meeting.

Moreover, an Aircraft Accident Investigation Board representative told the meeting that probe into the matter was being carried out in a transparent and fair manner, but more time was required to complete the investigation.
The meeting decided that the Civil Aviation Authority would seek legal advice from the Ministry of Law for the payment of compensation.
