A woman allegedly shot dead her husband in Mianwali on Saturday.
Reportedly, the suspect identified as 18-year-old Palwasha Nagin, daughter of Amir Abdullah Khan Ghorani, was deranged after members of her community taunted her over her decision to marry 40-year-old Fateh Khan, son of Saifullah, in a court.
According to the police report, Fateh had met Palwasha and tried to befriend her. When Palwasha showed disinterest in the man, he threatened the girl that he would leak her pictures on social media and make them viral, the woman alleged.
She also claimed that due to this pressure, she decided to marry Fateh in court around four months ago.
However, after she was married, she got deranged due to frequent remarks passed by residents of her village over her decision to marry in court.
On the day of the incident, the girl, in a fit of rage, allegedly shot her husband dead in Wanda Dhedianwala. Reportedly, Palwasha shot her husband Fateh in the head and he died on the spot.
According to the suspect’s family, the 18-year-old killed her husband because he used to blackmail her before marriage.
The family also alleged that the young woman's husband had made her photos viral on social media.
The woman decided to marry the man in retaliation for making her pictures viral on social media, so that she could eventually kill him, they claimed.
Police said the suspected murderer used a 44-bore pistol to kill the man and managed to flee from the crime scene.
