KARACHI:

A local court sent on Friday a man, accused of sharing inappropriate pictures of a 15-year-old girl on social media, on a 14-day judicial remand.

During the hearing at Karachi City Court, Federal Investigation Agency officials presented the accused, Ahsan Khaliq, before the East judicial magistrate.

The officials informed the court that Khaliq was arrested in Gulstan-e-Johar after the 15-year-old girl's father filed a complaint.

They told the court Kaliq had shared obscene pictures of a teenage girl on social media after she refused his proposal for marriage.

Separately, the South additional district and session’s judge summoned the investigation of a case pertaining to attempted murder and police encounter, registered against Lyari gang war leader Uzair Baloch, at the next hearing.

Baloch was presented before the court amid tight security on Friday, when government lawyer Kaleem Ahmed told the court that the police file of the case was not available and the proceedings of cases against Uzair Baloch were under way at Karachi Central Jail.

At that, the court sought any order issued by the home department in connection with jail trial.

Further directing the relevant authorities to provide case copies to the counsel for Uzair Baloch, the court adjourned the hearing till April 10.
