Special Judge Central court on Thursday granted a post-arrest bail to Pakistan Muslim League-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan who faces corruption charges.
Judge Syed Akhlaq Ahmed granted bail to the Islamabad MNA and directed him to furnish a surety bond worth Rs200, 000 for his release in the case.
Shahbahat Ali, a college teacher, had earlier registered a case against the legislator alleging that Anjum had sold a plot for Rs950,000 to him in the National Police Foundation housing scheme.
However, the plot never materialised and neither was the huge sum returned by the accused.
The MNA’s lawyer Shaukat Aziz Siddiqi has maintained that his client had made a compromise with the complainant and had returned the money.
The court also extended interim bail granted to Anjum till September 7 in another case of alleged corruption in purchases of land for National Police Foundation in Islamabad. The court extended the interim bail of DIG Laiq Khan till the next date of hearing too.
Anjum Aqeel could not appear in the court as he was not feeling well and was in the hospital, asserted his lawyer.

My family and friends have bought flats in Khudadad Heights in 2003 and 2004. We paid up fully and have waited for over 8 years now and have not been given ownership just like many thousands of other allotees/owners. We want our money back with compensation or the finished flats by end of 2011. People have been degraded by the management of Khudadad Heights over the years with their lies. One investor Mrs Zahida Durrani has taken her case to the Supreme Court to get her 20 MILLION RUPEES back from Anjum Aqeel Khan. Other investors in Khudadad Heights need to register their cases with Supreme Court to have any hope of getting their money back

@Imran: @nasir: I agree with both of you. If Aqeel were not from a rightwing party like PML-N, the courts especially the SC would be all over him. There are two types of people and corruption. Good corruption which is done by the court's favorites and bad corruption by the not so favorites. Usually justice is blind but in this case it is selective to say the least. No court has ever sentenced any criminal which has the backing of the Punjab government, be it banned organizations or well established corrupt people. Punjab dominated judiciary is always there to protect the political and religious interests of PML-N and their religiously extremist allies. Just Imagine how the entire country would be like if PML-N comes to power in the center. The criminals will roam free under a license from the judiciary.
This is shameful. Where is the Supreme court? This criminal acted like a decoit, has a history of avoiding/resisting arrest, absconding, and yet he is deemed fit for the bail. Looks like he greased the right palms. Even though his corruption scandal outweighs all others, and he is the prime accused, he is being let go, while Hamid Saeed and Moonis Ellahi (not the prime accused) rot in jail. CJ is taking his religio-political bias way too far.
special treatment of courts for PML(N) . why no bail for Moonis Ellahi and Hamid saeed kazmi. why their bail was rejected? Anjam aqeel broke the law n run away from police custody and admitted Rs 6 billions corruption. His corruption is alot alot more than hamid saeed and moonis ellahi and he run away from poice custody but he still got bail from courts.very easy for him to get bail in all cases, get bail for breaking law and run away from police custody, easy bail after admiting Rs 6 billion corruption. very good treatment from court. Why no bail for moonis ellahi and hamid saeed kazmi? why their bail was rejected while they never run away from police custody, their alleged corruption is alot alot less than Anjam Aqeel khan.
