Tuesday marked the 15th day of school principal's protest outside the Karachi Press Club.
They marched towards the Sindh Assembly on the day, and after crossing barricades placed by the police in a bid to stop them, they staged a sit-in outside the provincial assembly.
According to the protesters, primarily demanding regularisation, maintained that 937 government teachers in Sindh had not been made permanent, despite passing a test conducted by the Institute of Business Administration, Sukkur. They said as the Sindh government seemed non-serious about addressing their demands and concerns, they boycotted the test conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission, which was announced as a pre-requisite for their promotion.
They called for passing a bill in the Sindh Assembly for their regularisation and issuing an official notification for the same.
The protesters maintained that they would continue to stage demonstrations until the Sindh chief minister or any other representative of the provincial government negotiated with them.
