Aima Baig, Ali Zafar feature in ISPR’s Pakistan Day song
ISPR’s latest outing, a song in celebration of Pakistan Day, features famed Pakistani singers Ali Zafar and Aima Baig. The Pakistan Army has dedicated the track, written by Abid Ahsan, to frontline healthcare professionals and late mountaineer Ali Sadpara, who went missing while attempting to summit K2 earlier this year.
Titled Aik Qaum, Aik Manzil, the song’s video, which can be found on ISPR’s official YouTube channel, begins with footage of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s multiple addresses to the people of Pakistan following the 1947 independence. He can be heard saying, “We have rendered great sacrifices to achieve Pakistan." It then picks up the pace with a catchy tune, crooned by Zafar and Aima at Minar-e-Pakistan.

The video switches back and forth, from the two singers to people from different cultures to shots of some of the most scenic locations across the country and archival footage from the mass migration which followed the partition of India and Pakistan. Both singers are dressed in variations of green for the music video, with Zafar donning a waistcoat over a white kurta and Baig clad in shalwar kameez.
Aima Baig’s strange video about being a ‘mashriqi larki’ is going viral
Earlier, Baig was a featured artist in the Pakistan Super League anthem Groove Mera, which divided the country between those who absolutely loved it and others who loathed it. Hopefully, Aik Qaum, Aik Manzil will prove to be a less divisive song but only time will tell.
