ISLAMABAD:

In a meeting held on Saturday, the Islamabad Committee of Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) demanded of the government to "stop the economic murder of journalists", resolve their problems and ensure the freedom of expression.

Chaired by CPNE Central Vice President and Islamabad/Rawalpindi Committee Chairman Sardar Khan Niazi, the meeting of CPNE's Islamabad Committee was attended by Central Joint Secretary Shakil Ahmed Turabi, Sajjad Abbasi, Khalilur Rehman, Tazeen Akhtar, Safeer Hussain Shah, Mumtaz Ahmed Sadiq, Kaswar Jameel Ruhani and Abdul Salam Bath.

The meeting welcomed the new formula on the distribution of the advertisements formulated by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Government of Pakistan as the result of the efforts of CPNE's central committee.
