ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) on Wednesday announced a trophy design contest in connection with the ‘Pakistan National Film Awards 2021’ which is being revived almost after 18 years.

“We are pleased to announce a contest to design trophies for the awards”, PNCA Director General Dr Fouzia Saeed disclosed to the media.

She said that after necessary modification, the winning trophy designs would be modelled in 3D and presented to the winners at the PNFA 2021. The first prize of the competition is Rs50,000 and the second prize is Rs. 25,000. Innovation design will be given Rs10,000 and closest to theme Rs10,000 and the use of innovative material will be rewarded with Rs10,000. “The selected trophy will become the intellectual property of the PNFA. Only one entry per individual will be accepted. The registration form can be downloaded from the PNCA website,” said a statement.

Meanwhile, in another development, the PNCA will organise a five-day “Youth Drama Festival 2021” from March 15 (Monday).

Students of various colleges and universities will be competing and acting out stories using a combination of speech, gesture, music, dances, sound and spectacles.

PNCA Repertory Theatre section is providing hundreds of youngsters with the opportunity to appear before an audience on the national stage for many years in the Youth Drama Festival that takes place at the PNCA Auditorium, the statement added.

PNCA DG Dr Fouzia Saeed, while speaking to the media, said that the ‘PNCA Youth Drama Festival 2021’ will be a wonderful five days of entertainment, showcasing young talent from different colleges, Universities and Youth Drama clubs from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, who will compete for the awards.
