Child dies after van plunges into gorge

12 children were injured

At least one child was killed and 11 others sustained injuries when a school van plunged into a gorge in Malam Jabba located in Khyber-Pakthunkhwa’s Swat district.

Police told The Express Tribune that a vehicle of a private school took the children to Malam Jabba on a field trip but the vehicle went out of the driver’s control and plunged into a gorge leaving 12 children injured. “The vehicle was on its way back from Malam Jabba to Mingora when the unfortunate incident took place. All the children were rescued by the locals but one of them expired before reaching the hospital and the critically injured were then shifted to Peshawar.
