It was previously reported that the actor had been replaced by Emilia Clarke

Amber Heard’s role in the upcoming Aquaman 2 has been subject to a great amount of controversy. Previously, when her former husband and Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp lost the high-stake libel trial against The Sun, his fans demanded Heard’s removal from the fantasy franchise.

Now, in a new development, reports of her being replaced by Game of Thrones’ star Emilia Clarke have been making the rounds on the internet. According to Variety, Heard has been asked to step down from the much-coveted role after failing a physical examination required for her part.

She reportedly violated the health and fitness clauses in her contract for the upcoming DC Extended Universe film. “Heard did not pass her physical examination for the role and therefore violated her contract. She has put on some pounds and is in terrible shape,” revealed a source.

It added, “There is a clause in her contract which says she is required to be in good form ahead of shooting and she went against it.” On the contrary, however, Heard’s supporters have noted that there is no truth in the claims, stating she is still cast in the film.

“The replacement rumours are not true. They are baseless and inaccurate,” noted an insider. This is not the first time such speculations have been made. The Rum Diaries star previously slammed the backlash she has been receiving over Aquaman 2, saying, "Paid rumours and paid campaigns on social media don't dictate casting decisions because they have no basis in reality."

Earlier this year, Depp’s fans started a Change.org petition to have the 34-year-old actor fired from the film. It has garnered a whopping 1.8 million signatures. In the first movie installment, Amber, 34, played Mera, wife of the DC Comics superhero Aquaman.
