In a heartwarming move, an employee of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) rescued a trapped and injured crow helplessly hanging from a tree with a kite string in Peshawar.
A spokesperson of the PRCS in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), Zeeshan Khan, told The Express Tribune that they found a crow hanging upside down helplessly with a string in a tree at the PRCS office and one of their colleagues Abdullah Afridi decided to climb the tree to rescue the bird.
“It took him an hour to reach the crow and rescue it. The unfortunate bird was trapped in a kite thread which left it badly injured too. The bird is safe now,” he said.
“The tree was very tall and even after climbing it, rescuing the bird was not easy but he did it,” he added.
PRCS K-P Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Hamid Khan lauded the efforts of Abdullah Afridi, saying "we should serve all in need be it humans or animals as per the teaching of Islam".
