Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently engaged in an interview with American show host Oprah Winfrey. The duo discussed royal life, marriage, parenthood and being in the public eye after announcing their split from the British Royal family. However, ever since their conversation went live, it has sparked a hot bidding war in the UK to air the episode without censoring it.
Multiple sources told Variety that TV operator Sky and ITV are set to premiere the CBS special. But it is strange that despite landing several deals with streaming services, the interview will not make it to Netflix or even Amazon.
On Tuesday evening, a BBC source confirmed that the broadcaster will not be airing the special episode. “The BBC is not involved in a bidding war on this," shared the insider. Previously, news of Harry and Meghan's final split from the British Royal family was confirmed via an official statement from the Buckingham Palace. The couple informed Queen Elizabeth that they will not be returning as working members of the monarchy. This means that they will also lose their treasured royal patronages, which will now be distributed among other royal family members.
