The Swabi police on Tuesday arrested a notorious criminal Zulqarnain who was involved in triple murders.
According to a press release, Zulqarnain was wanted by the police for the past seven years. He was arrested in an operation on the special direction of Swabi District Police Officer who had previously held a meeting of DSPs and station house officers to step up the fight against land mafia, drug dealers, robbers and dacoits.
The operation was headed by DSP Taj Mohammad along with SHO Yar Hussain.
The notorious criminal Zulqarnain was involved in killing Masmi Salman, a resident of Bazargi, in a minor altercation in 2014.
In 2019, he shot and critically injured another person named Masmat. The accused managed to flee to another province, fearing for his arrest. The area was gripped by fear and terror after the murder. The police registered three murder and attempted murder cases against him.
He is currently being interrogated by police.
