KARACHI: The Pakistan junior team overcame Egypt’s senior side 1-0 in the third match to gain a 2-0 lead in the five-match series currently underway in Cairo. Mohammad Suleman scored the decisive goal that gave Pakistan the win.

Earlier, Pakistan won the first match of the series before being held by the hosts in the second.

The tourists got an early lead as Suleman showed great pace to beat the goal-keeper in a second-minute move. However, both teams failed to convert their chances as Pakistan held on their lead to seal the win.

Pakistan chief coach Rana Mujahid was content with the performance of youngsters. “The tour is proving beneficial for us,” Mujahid told The Express Tribune from Cairo.  “We wanted to give international exposure to our youngsters and this series is proving the ideal platform.”
