Commander among two terrorists killed in North Waziristan IBO

Havaldar Shehzad Raza embraced martyrdom during exchange of fire, says ISPR

The security forces on Saturday killed two terrorists including a commander during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) on a terrorist hideout in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's (K-P) North Waziristan district, a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The military's media wing said that terrorist commander Rehmat alias Khalid was an improvised explosive device (IED) expert and remained involved in different terrorist activities against security forces, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and target killing since 2009 in Malik Khel area.

"During the search operation, security forces recovered huge cache of weapons," the statement added.

The ISPR said that Havaldar Shehzad Raza embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire with the terrorists.

On February 4, security forces killed four terrorists during an operation in North Waziristan.

The military's media wing said that the operation was conducted after the security forces observed the presence of the terrorists in a compound in North Waziristan's Mir Ali area.

The ISPR said that 42-year-old resident of Chitral Naib Subedar Aminullah and a 24-year-old resident of Landi Kotal Sepoy Sher Zamin embraced martyrdom while four other soldiers sustained injuries during the operation.

On January 18, at least two terrorists were killed by security forces during an IBO in Nargosa area of South Waziristan district.

“During an intense fire, two terrorists Usman Ali and Waheed Lashtai were killed and one was injured and apprehended,” the military’s media wing added.

On January 10, it was reported Sepoy Naseer was martyred during an IBO on a terrorist hideout in Kani Roga, Doga Macha, North Waziristan District.

Two terrorists were also killed in the operation, the ISPR revealed.
