The first trailer of much awaited Snyder’s Cut of Justice League debuted on Sunday with an enthralling and captivating preview. The promo seems full of surprises and although DC fanatics are unhappy with the CGI graphics, which seem to be jerky at some instances, overall, the film looks like a promising hit.
What makes the trailer so riveting? Well, as compiled from The Indian Express, here five things we have noted about the upcoming film.
1. Superman discovers his true purpose
One scene from the new trailer takes us back to Man of Steel in which Superman first learns to fly as debris starts to circle his hand. Now, in Zach Snyder’s film, the Last Son of Krypton will discover his true calling. While in the Superman film it was all about the newfangled superhero, he became a Zeus-like character in Batman v Superman before he dying. In the upcoming super hero flick, he will resurrect and claim his place in the world.
2. Forces of Earth vs Darkseid
We get a bit of a history lesson about the first time the forces of Apokolips invaded the earth, with Darkseid himself leading the charge. The forces of the earth, including the Amazons, Atlantians, at least one Green Lantern and the humans, fought off Darkseid and his parademons and were successful in repelling the invasion.
3. Wonder Woman’s backstory
Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, discovers the invasion by the Apokoliptians years ago with the help of murals. A similar invasion will be described in the history lesson by her to the rest of the League. Speaking theatrically, this certain sequence has left many confused as to how she knew about the invasion but the confusions will now be put to rest.
4. Knightmare
Like in Batman v Superman, Batman had what is called a ‘Knightmare’ in which he dreamt that Darkseid won and Superman went evil. It was to stop that future from coming true that he assembled Justice League. Snyder’s take on superheroes will also have a Knightmare sequence and we will also see his arch-enemy in it.
5. Joker
Snyder embraced the popular ‘we live in a society’ meme made on Jared Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime, a now deleted tweet. However, the announcement made online with Leto’s black and white lab coat and a psychedelic photo only indicates one thing: trouble. There’s not much to assure aficionados with Joker’s entry into the League but the internet is sure about one thing and that’s Snyder’s take on Justice League. The highly-anticipated film will begin streaming on HBO Max on March 18.
