ISLAMABAD:

Chairing a session on mental health and drug abuse on Wednesday, President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi deplored that the use of narcotics was spreading in educational institutions as a curse.

He said the use of drugs posed a great danger to both the physiological and psychological health of youths. “It should be our priority to get rid of this curse”.

In order to rescue youths from this, national-level coordination based on awareness against the use of drugs is in order and also to hammer out a strategy against it, he added.

He called on media and educational institutions to work towards spreading awareness in this regard.

“Our parents and teachers have key roles to play in discouraging the use of narcotics,” said the president.
