UVAS, Awami Lab ink MoU for research

The agreement also included product development, problem solving, skill enhancement, training and internships

The Institute of Pharmaceutical Science (IPS) of the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Awami Laboratories signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for research on Wednesday. The agreement also included product development, problem solving, skill enhancement, training and internships. According to UVAS spokesperson, IPS Director Dr Tahir Mehmood Khan and Chief Executive Officer Dr Irfan Shahid from Awami Laboratories signed the MoU in a ceremony held at the UVAS City Campus on Wednesday. Vice Chancellor Dr Nasim Ahmad, Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Masood Rabbani, Dean Faculty of Bio-sciences Dr Habibur Rehman, UVAS faculty members and officials from Awami Lab were also present. Speaking on the occasion, the UVAS VC said the UVAS was always focusing on the promotion of academia and industry linkages for the development of education and research. Dr Masood Rabbani said that it was direly needed to strengthen monitoring system regarding the impact of medicines against viral diseases at national and international level. Earlier, IPS Director Dr Tahir Mehmood Khan spoke about the objectives and benefits of the cooperation.
