ISLAMABAD:

Eighteen more suspects have been placed on the fourth schedule list of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 in the Rawalpindi district.

After their addition, the total number of the suspects on the watch list has reached 43.

The police and other relevant institutions have been directed to strictly monitor the activities of the suspects. They have been ordered to run a thorough investigation to ascertain that if the suspects had any links with proscribed organisations.

Of the fresh entries, six live in the jurisdiction of the Gujjar Khan police station, five in Taxila, two in Saddar, and one each in the limits of the Waris Khan, the Pir Wadhai, the Wah Cantt, the Saddar Beruni, and the Rawat police stations.

The suggestion to put place their names on the list was presented before the district and divisional intelligence committee. After endorsement at the district level, the Punjab home department added their names.

It is mandatory for the suspects put on the list to inform the local police before leaving or returning to the area where they reside. Besides this, the suspects also have to submit a surety bond regarding non-involvement in any illegal activity and their peaceful conduct.
