KARACHI:

Highlighting the significance of beautifying the city, Sindh government spokesperson and adviser to the CM on law, coastal development and environment, Murtaza Wahab, said on Sunday that monuments equipped with modern facilities were not just the centre of the public’s attention, but also added to the beauty of their surroundings.

He expressed these views while visiting Searle Triangle, a monument at Fawwara Chowk, and other structures constructed at the city’s roundabouts to enhance their beauty.

Specifically speaking about the South district, Wahab said it held importance as millions of people from other districts and other parts of the country visited it in search of livelihoods.

Wahab then acknowledged that the South District Municipal Corporation had been renovating parks and monuments despite limited funds, in order to provide a healthy environment to people.

“Searle Triangle is another beautiful addition to the area and a beautiful aspect of Karachi is coming forth by the construction of such monuments. The efforts of the South DMC are laudable in this regard,” he remarked.

Wahab promised more similar “gifts” for Karachi in the coming days, adding that the “lack of resources cannot hamper the achievement of an objective if duties are performed with good intention and with the spirit of serving the public.”

He assured that all available resources would be employed to provide better municipality services under an effective strategy to people.
