Capital beggars paid Rs100 per head to handler daily

Loi Bher police arrested gang of professional beggars and also nailed their handlers on Saturday

ISLAMABAD:

Police busted a beggary ring along with the handlers who charged Rs100 from each beggar they would post on lucrative spots like capitals traffic signals and shopping malls.

In a recently launched drive against professional beggars, the Loi Bher police arrested gang of professional beggars and also nailed their handlers on Saturday, the police said.

Islamabad IG Qazi Jamilur Rehman has directed to launch special crackdown against professional beggars and their handlers with the purpose to curb this menace.

Lohi Bher police cracked a ring of organised beggary that used to transport beggars from their base camp at Mandra in the Gujjar Khan area of Rawalpindi to designated points in Islamabad for begging.
