Contractors to boycott govt tenders, projects

The contractors refused to talk to junior officers and and did not attend the meeting

RAWALPINDI:

The Government Contractors Association (GCA) has decided to boycott all government tenders as a protest against the red-tape of bureaucracy.

“The bureaucracy of Punjab is destroying the construction industry which is against the vision of the prime minister and chief minister,” . GCA Divisional Chief Coordinator Malik Kaleemullah said.

The association has announced boycotting all government contract projects across Punjab till their problems are solved. Kaleemullah said that the chief minister had directed to resolve problems of the contractors. However, the bureaucracy did not let it happen.

Further, He said that a meeting between the government officials and GCA was scheduled on Saturday but the secretary did not come. The contractors refused to talk to junior officers and and did not attend the meeting.
