From Akshay Kumar and Miss World Manushi Chhillar to Ranveer Singh and newcomer Shalini Pandey, Bollywood is set to bombard 2021 with fresh celebrity pairings on the big screen. Some will be spotted in theatres whereas, most will hit OTT platforms. As compiled from Hindustan Times, here are seven fresh on-screen couples to looking forward to in the coming year:
1. Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar
Chhillar will be seen playing Sanyogita to Akshay’s role as Prithviraj in an upcoming periodical titled Prithviraj, helmed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. The veteran actor Kumar has worked with many debutants throughout his career and the newest to be seen is Chhillar.
2. Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone
The Krrish star is always praised for his fetching appearance and acting skills. But so is the Padmaavat starlet Padukone. The duo will be seen together for the first time onscreen in an upcoming Siddharth Anand action drama thriller.
3. Ayushmann Khurrana, Vaani Kapoor
Khurrana rose to fame in quarantine more than he did before, as people explored and binged on Andhadhun. He will next be seen with Kapoor who is known for her debut in Befikre. The duo will be seen in Abhishek Kapoor’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui which is in its last stage before being released.
4. Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani
The on-screen duo of Dhawan and Advani will be seen in Raj Mehta’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Fans have been swooning over the snippets of the film released on social media. Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor will also star in the romantic-comedy.
5. Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt
Fans really can’t get enough of these real-life lovers, on and off screen. This year, they will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra which will also feature Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
6. Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur
These two have been the talk of the town ever since Gowtam Tinnanuri’s Jersey was announced. Kapoor will return to the screen after his 2019 super hit Kabir Singh. He will be seen playing a role of a cricketer alongside Thakur in the sports drama.
7. Ranveer Singh, Shalini Pandey
The former is commonly known as the ‘heart’ of Bollywood because of his versatility and vivacious nature. Whereas, Pandey who rose to fame with Arjun Reddy in 2017. The duo will be making their way to the public eye in a social comedy titled Jayeshbhai Jordaar, directed by Divyang Thakkar.
