GILGIT:

Local government will ensure that prices are stable during Ramazan and that citizens are provided round-the-clock facilities in the city, officials said on Tuesday.

“We try to keep the prices stable during this holy month,” said Zulfiqar Ahmed, chief officer, local government.

He added that the government has assigned the task of price control to magistrates, who are taking appropriate measures in this respect. A task force headed by magistrates could raid the shops if complaints were registered against them by general public, he added.

The chief officer said that telephone numbers and addresses of concerned officials have been put on display through signboards in the city for complaints and suggestions.
