K-P to discontinue pension facility for new higher education employees

Decision taken by the provincial government as part of belt-tightening measures

Our Correspondent January 13, 2021

The provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to not offer the facility of pension to newly hired employees in the province's higher education institutions.

The decision has been taken by the provincial government as part of belt-tightening measures as the universities in KP are under severe financial strain.

According to the Higher Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all schools functioning under the supervision of universities in the province have also been directed to increase fees.

The statement by the department further added that the medical and house allowances of the university employees should be changed to the same scale as used by the provincial government and funds should be collected from staff living on campus for repairs, security and other expenses.
