RAWALPINDI:

Seven special squads of traffic police will be on patrol on the New Year Eve to catch unruly bikers who run amok without silencers doing one wheeling and other stunts on roads.

City Traffic Police (CTP) has issued a detailed traffic plan for New Year night for all tehsils of Rawalpindi.

According to CTP spokesman, nine DSPs, 18 inspectors, 191 traffic wardens and 57 traffic assistants will perform special duties on New Year night to facilitate the motorists. Some seven special squads have been formed to prevent one wheeling and car skating on Mall Road, Peshawar Road, Bank Road, Jhelum Road, Old Airport Road, Murree Road and Sixth Road.

Special pickets will be set up at the entrances of Murree to prevent one-wheeling where additional traffic police personnel will be also deployed.

Considering the security condition, strict legal action will be taken against unregistered and tinted vehicles.
