2020 was the year of The Queen's Gambit. Netflix's most talked-about show proved what all the hype was about, with its strong storyline and brilliant actors. Anya-Taylor Joy was a treat to watch as Elizabeth Harmon and has been lauded by critics and the audience for her powerful yet sophisticated performance.
While the American-born British-Argentine actor has successfully made it to the mainstream media, there was chatter about her sharing a resemblance to one popular Pakistani star as well. And it happens to be none other than Sanam Saeed! The Cake star was touted to be the 'splitting image' of Joy. The comparison was first pointed out by Pakistani journalist Maria Memon, who commented under one of Saeed's posts, saying, "The woman in The Queen's Gambit on Netflix looks so much like you!"
While many concurred with Memon, looks like the Zindagi Gulzar Hai star agrees too, now. Taking to Instagram, Saeed posed with a chessboard and put up two pictures with similar impressions as Joy’s in the show. Do you see it now? Or should we finish this on the board?" she wrote.
Oh, we definitely see it and so does Ayesha Omar! The latter remarked, "I saw it the first time I saw her!"
