In an unabated ceasefire violations, Indian troops on Thursday targeted civilians population along the Line of Control (LoC) and injured a 55-year-old woman.

The latest breach comes a day after Indian troops martyred two Pakistan Army soldiers along the de facto border.

“Indian troops initiated ceasefire violation in Hotspring Sector along the LoC deliberately targeting civil population with mortars and heavy weapons,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The injured woman is being provided medical care, it added.

Indian forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) have been continuously targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy-calibre mortars and automatic weapons.

This year, India has committed more than 2,000 ceasefire violations, resulting in martyrdoms and serious injuries to several innocent civilians and soldiers.

Pakistani troops along the border with India are on ‘high alert’ after intelligence indicated that India could mount a misadventure or surgical strike to take the spotlight off the ongoing mammoth farmers’ protest in the country.
