Two major opposition parties in the province, the Jammat-e-Islami and the Awai National Party on Saturday hit out at the federal government for sacking thousands of workers of two state-run enterprises and accused it of pursuing an anti-poor policy.
Addressing a political gathering in Dir, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) provincial Ameer Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that the government had promised to provide financial and technical support to state-run enterprises (SREs) but due to a mafia, these institutions are on the verge of collapse. Instead of righting the ship, the workers have been sacked.
He accused the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of failed on the diplomatic front after the Kashmir issue was excluded from the agenda of the latest Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) meeting.
He reiterated that skyrocketing inflation has crippled the masses. He added due to their failed policies on all fronts, the government should pack up their bags back.
Mushtaq further vowed to continue their struggle against the incompetent government.
