The elder daughter of the slain former premier Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, is all set to get engaged today at the Bilawal House Karachi, sources informed The Express Tribune.

Mahmood Chaudhry, the fiance-to-be of PPP Chairperson's sister arrived in the metropolis with his family. Amid rumours of her already being engaged in a lowkey ceremony, Bakhtawar thanked everyone for the outpour of love and prayers.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote, "Very sentimental and emotional day. So grateful for everyone’s love and prayers."

She went on to add, "Especially our PPP family whom I know are eager to participate. InshAllah this is only the beginning - will be able to celebrate in a post-Covid world. Please keep SMBB and our family in your prayers."

The details of the much-awaited ceremony are kept under wraps. However, it has been reported that it will be an outdoor ceremony and no member of the Bilawal House Karachi staff will be allowed inside unless they have undergone a coronavirus PCR test. It has also been revealed that all guests will be required to ensure they comply with the coronavirus-related standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The development comes as Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari tests positive for Covid-19, prior to which, his political secretary Jameel Soomro had also tested positive.

Furthermore, a catering committee has been set up to exclusively entertain the Chaudhry family while the team tasked with decorations will complete all their work by tonight.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari is fully aware of all the arrangements for the event, sources said.
