The Rangers and police arrested the prime suspect in hundreds of robberies along with his four accomplices in a joint operation on Monday, confiscating their weapons.
According to a Rangers spokesperson, Asif alias Chitta was arrested with the help of CCTV footage, while his accomplices, namely Nisar Khan, Saeed Might, Roni Ilyas and Michael, were nabbed on the basis of information provided by him. They have been handed over to the police.
The spokesperson further said footage showed the suspects robbing a milk shop in Nazimabad in January, adding that they had been involved in hundreds of similar crimes. He went on to say that they had been arrested several times prior, but returned to crime each time they were released.
