The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed on Monday to have foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs to the Netherlands.

ANF joint director Abid Zulfiqar stated that they received a tip-off about the bid and conducted a raid at the office of a private courier company in Clifton. Subsequently, he said, ANF officials found and confiscated 250 grammes of heroin concealed in a box of bangles destined for the Netherlands.

Separately, ANF officials intercepted a truck on the basis of a tip-off, seizing 25 kilogrammes of heroin and arresting a suspect, Jasif Sofi, who was allegedly a member of an inter-province smuggling ring.

Moreover, in another raid in Sohrab Goth, the ANF confiscated 750kg of hashish and arrested a suspect, Javed Gul.

Zulfiqar said cases were registered and further investigation was underway.
