Kaghan to set up special tourist radio station

To promote the local tourism industry and to set up a network to provide the latest information to tourists, the development authority of the Kaghan hill-station have decided to set up an FM radio station among other projects. This was announced by the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Chairman Aimal Zaman during a media briefing in Balakot on Friday. Zaman said that following directions from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to take practical measures for the promotion of tourism, they had decided to build mega projects in the region. Detailing plans to build the FM radio, he said that it will be used to disseminate useful information for tourists. Further, the KDA chief said that the authority will also provide training to hotel owners and other people related to the tourism sector to provide job opportunities in their respective areas. To enhance the beauty of the region, the KDA chief said that they will take measures to plant tulip flowers across the valley. Further, the authority, Zaman said, is working on improving access to various parts of the valley by improving the condition of roads, dividing the villages into clusters for beautification, establishing car parks, training locals on trout fishing, and working with international donors to further develop the fisheries sector
