Covid-19 claims seven more lives

With 487 fresh infections, total virus cases exceed 109,300

The coronavirus pandemic has claimed seven more lives on Saturday whereas 487 fresh infections were reported in Punjab.

According to a spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 109,300 while so far the total number of deaths in the province had been recorded as 2,462 altogether.

The P&SHD confirmed that 208 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, 102 in Rawalpindi, four in Jhelum, nine in Gujranwala, four in Gujrat, seven in Faisalabad, four in Toba Tek Singh, 41 in Multan, 12 in Vehari, three in Khanewal, one in Chiniot, 10 in Sargodha, 16 in Mianwali, two in Khushab, and one virus case in Jhang.

Moreover, 23 virus cases were reported in Bahawalpur, four in Dera Ghazi Khan, two in Lodhran, three in Bhakkar, 14 in Layyah, one in Rahim Yar Khan, three in Muzaffargarh, three in Sahiwal, two in Okara, four in Pakpattan and four new cases of Covid-19 had been reported in Bahawalnagar district during the last 24 hours.

The Punjab health department conducted 1,738,427 tests for Covid-19 so far while 97,731 confirmed cases recovered altogether in the province.
