The Baloch Colony police claimed to have arrested a five-member gang of robbers on Friday night, who were allegedly also responsible for killing a shopkeeper for resistance in August. Weapons were confiscated from their possession.

According to East SSP Sajid Sadozai, the five suspects had robbed an egg shop in Junejo Town, Korangi Industrial Area, on Thursday. He said that the faces of three of the robbers were captured clearly by CCTV cameras installed nearby, following which the police managed to arrest the group within two days.

Sadozai stated that the police seized five pistols and stolen money from the arrested suspects' possession. The suspects reportedly include three brothers, namely Azhar Masih, Salman Masih and Edison Masih, and two others, identified as Rizwan Masih and Haroon Masih.

The SSP further said the robbers had confessed to their involvement in several robberies as well as the murder of a shopkeeper, Muhammad Sabir, for offering resistance during a milk shop robbery in Defence Housing Authority on August 11.

He added that the robbers had a past criminal record. Further investigation is underway.
