At least 19 people died, whereas 1,070 were injured in 993 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Out of this, 651 people were seriously injured who were shifted to different hospitals. Whereas, 419 minor injured victims were treated at the incident site.
The majority (63%) involved motorcycles. Further analysis showed that 415 drivers, 44 underage drivers, 161 pedestrians, and 513 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic crashes.
The statistics showed that 233 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 232 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 76 in Faisalabad with 83 victims and at third Multan with 67 RTCs and 74 victims.
The details further reveal that 1,089 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 827 males and 262 females, while the age group of the victims showed that 204 were under 18 years of age, 566 were between 18 and 40 years and rest of the 319 victims were reported above 40 years of age.
As per the data 824 motorcycles, 167 auto-rickshaws, 122 motorcars, 33 vans, 10 passenger buses, 25 trucks and 124 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
