Raisani owns assets worth Rs21 billion

ECP releases financial details of provincial lawmakers

Former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani is the richest parliamentarian, with declared assets amounting to Rs21 billion.

This information was released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday, when it made public the annual statements of assets and liabilities, submitted by members of the provincial assemblies.

Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s provincial president Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind also turned out to be billionaires.

Raisani owns agricultural land valuing at Rs190 million, a residential plot worth more than Rs1.9 billion, vehicles worth more than Rs3.75 billion, bank deposits in excess of Rs513.8 million and animals worth more than Rs230 million. He also owns assets in Malta worth over Rs1.73 billion.

According to the ECP report, Jam Kamal and Rind possess properties worth hundreds of millions of rupees in Pakistan and abroad.

The report shows that the Balochistan chief minister has declared assets exceeding Rs728.4 million whereas assets held abroad amount more than Rs778.7 million. The provincial chief executive has also declared ownership of businesses valuing at Rs19 million, vehicles worth Rs48.1 million and jewels worth Rs12 million.

As per the report, PTI’s Rind owns 14,000 acres of agricultural land, a residential plot in Dera Murad Jamali worth Rs3 million, a house in Quetta worth Rs20 million and a house worth Rs3.5 million in Islamabad. In addition, he also owns two apartments in Marina Dubai with a declared price of Rs36 million and villas worth Rs42 million.

He has also declared 40 tolas of gold from inheritance and four vehicles valued at more than Rs28 million.

He has Rs1.2 million and AED 6.3 million in cash apart from possessing furniture worth Rs8.5 million, agriculture commodities worth over Rs250 million and weapons worth Rs2 million.

On the other hand, Balochistan Assembly Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has declared ownership of a house worth Rs9.5 million, Rs400,000 worth of gold, and 0.9 million in bank deposits.

According to the ECP record, MPA Jan Mohammad Jamali owns property worth Rs12 million and 40 acres of agricultural land. He also owns 60 tolas of gold, a car worth Rs2.5 million, Rs174.27 million in cash, and approximately Rs426,000 in bank accounts.

Another former chief minister, Sanaullah Zehri, owns residential and agricultural properties in Karachi and Khuzdar valuing at Rs65 million besides an apartment in Dubai worth Rs50 million. Zehri also owns a vehicles worth Rs27 million, 60 tolas of gold, and prize bonds worth Rs110 million. He has also declared Rs8.1 million in various banks and furniture amounting to Rs1 million.

Balochistan finance minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has declared ownership of 1000 acres of agricultural land, two plots valuing at Rs8.6 million, bank deposits valued at Rs5.1 million and household items worth more than Rs750,000.
