Two robbers, wanted in multiple incidents of robbery and extortion, were shot dead by police and their own accomplices.

Police shifted both the bodies to the hospital for postmortem and then launched raids to nab the accomplices of the slain accused.

Police said the accused Shaban Mukhtar, who is wanted by police in 26 cases of robbery, murder, attempted murder and extortion, was caught during a police checking at Panisara Road.

However, the accused on a motorcycle opened fire on police and fled. Following a police chase, the accused hid in the crop fields and continued firing at the police. The accused eventually sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to this injuries.

Meanwhile, another robber named Mohammad Ali, the son of Mohammad Arshad, was wanted in multiple robbery cases. He evaded arrest while being handcuffed after his accomplices opened fire at a police team at Bypass Chowk Jaranwala Road.

During police encounter, he was shot dead by his own accomplices.
