ABBOTABAD:

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the people of Pakistan are shouldering the burden of incapability and failure of Imran Khan's government, vowing to not allow him to 'usurp' the land which belongs to the people of Astore, a district of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Addressing a corner meeting of the party in connection with the PPP election campaign in Astore on Wednesday, he said that former prime minister and founder of PPP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto ended FCR [Frontier Crime Regulation] and Rajgiri system in the region.

"[Former prime minister] Shaheed Benazir Bhutto introduced democracy and gave permission to function in G-B. Then [ex-president] Zardari gave the rights to the people of Balochistan by giving the identity to the people of G-B, gave assembly, first governor and first chief minister to G-B. He also introduced BISP [Benazir Income Support Programme] and provided 25,000 jobs to the youth of G-B," Bilawal added.

He said when the PPP is not in power, there is no progress at all and that is what has happened in the region as well.

"[PM] Imran Khan has snatched employment from the youth in the country. Poor women are being deprived of BISP benefit. We cannot abandon the people of Pakistan or G-B. Imran is snatching the subsidy from the people. We will not let him do this. Imran is giving relief to the rich in electricity tariff, for the industries of the rich but refuses to give any relief to the poor people of Pakistan or G-B. People of Pakistan are shouldering the burden of incapability and failure of Imran Khan's government," he added.

The PPP leader said that youth of Astore offered supreme sacrifice in protecting Benazir Bhutto on 18th October in Karachi.

"The PPP promises to serve the land of Astore. Now your government is about to be in place and the times of prosperity is going to begin. We will work according to your demands and you will be included in every decision of your area. We will not let Imran Khan usurp your Rama Valley which has been declared a national park," he added.

Bilawal said that his party will deliver on the promise of a separate province, assembly, members in the National Assembly of Pakistan and in the Senate. "We will deliver the right to rule and right to property and employment."

He also appealed to the people of G-B to support him as they had supported Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and [former] president Zardari."

He said that the PPP will introduce labour card, and free hospitals like the PPP has established in Sindh. "This is not an election but the future of the people of G-B. The tyrant snatched Benazir Bhutto but now every woman of G-B and Astore is ready to trace the footsteps Benazir Bhutto."

He also urged the people to come out on 15th November and vote for the PPP.
