The Beckham family could very well fill the void that will be left after Keeping up with the Kardashians finishes off its final season next year. Retired footballer David Beckham and his wife, former Spice girl-turned-fashion designer Victoria are the latest major celebrity couple to sign a deal with Netflix, reported Variety.

The deal is said to be worth $20.6 million with David’s Studio 99 taking on co-producing duties. The documentary would showcase his rise to fame through personal photographs and video footage of family celebrations and recollections from friends, family and teammates. It will also chart his relationship with Victoria, one of the founders of iconic girl group the Spice Girls, where she was known as Posh Spice.

Among instances that will be included in the archive footage is everything from old videos of birthdays, Christmas holidays and special occasions, as well as the couple’s early dates. David’s current business ventures will also be covered in the film. The project is believed to have been shopped around to various platforms by Studio 99 over the summer months.
Aside from being one of the most decorated footballers of all time, David is currently the president and co-owner of US soccer club Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City soccer club. He has played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team as well. In a career spanning 20 years, he won 19 major trophies.

Meanwhile, Victoria, since finishing off her career as a recording artist, made her name in the fashion world with luxury lines while also being featured in various documentaries such as Victoria’s Secrets (2000) and Victoria Beckham: Coming to America (2007).
