In a television interview earlier, ace Pakistani actor Mahira Khan had shared her experience of meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time.
The Verna actor who starred opposite the king of Bollywood in Raees - 2017’s highest grossing Indian film - shared an interesting story with designer-cum-host Hassan Sheheryar Yasin (HSY).
The moment he asked her to walk him through the first time she met him, Khan said, “So I had finally said yes to Raees, and I was leaving quickly when they said, ‘let’s do a small photo-shoot tomorrow.’ I said fine! But little did I know that Shah Rukh would also be there.”
“So the next day the shoot was going extremely well when I suddenly found out that he’s outside,” continued Khan hesitating. “I was like damn but then I collected myself and went out.”
Khan then revealed that she had never planned out the first thing she would say to her favourite superstar if or when she ever met him. “So I just went up to him and said ‘hello,’ and in response he said ‘Assalam-o-Alaikum,’ and I was like Walaikum Salam.”
HSY then laughed at her saying, “You lost that point,” to which Khan agreed. “How could I not say Assalam-o-Alaikum, that’s my thing, I am from Pakistan! Why did I not say that? I was just being neutral and said hello first,” she continued.
Khan’s upcoming projects include Nabeel Qureshi and Fiza Ali Meerza’s Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, in which she’ll be starring opposite Fahad Mustafa.
