Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will have to go to London to bring former premier Nawaz Sharif back to the country.
The minister maintained that the proceedings against Sharif had entered the next stage and that January 15 was a faraway date for the repatriation of the PML-N supremo. He was speaking to media in Islamabad.
A few days back, Fawad had said that Sharif would be brought back by January 15.
He expressed confidence that the UK justice system would respect the justice system in Pakistan.
“Nawaz Sharif will soon return to Pakistan. I think the prime minister will have to go to London on the issue of Nawaz Sharif,” he said.
Fawad recalled that the government had offered the opposition an opportunity for talks but instead it resorted to politicising matters.
He stressed that PM Imran would not be blackmailed by any one and that the people of the country had rejected Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and Bilawal.
He censured Sharif for his speeches at PDM rallies and cautioned the former premier against speaking against state institutions.
